Mittens is one of the Cable's original channel leaders, looking over the Cooking channels and food departments. Although her channel went unscathed, the effects of the Divide still impacted her friends and colleagues, and Mittens tries her best to keep the harmony among such shaky bonds.

Finding her friendship and warmth to be best shown with a nice meal and a warm hug, Mittens has yet to satiate her own hunger.

A hunger for the Lightners' return.

Once Mike and Host return from their Hiatus, Mittens is absolutely ready to give the Lightners a taste of what her channel has to offer.

Mike - Close Friend

The Divide changed everything in the Cable, and despite trying his best to keep up appearances, Mittens always knew that Mike did not have to hide his grief from her.

Mittens' tendency to try to keep the peace helped lift some tension of off Mike's shoulders, who knew that he could still trust her to keep a level head about the situation.

They've been close for many years, and while Mittens isn't a stranger to the cat and mouse dynamic the two of them have, their fun banter always brings a smile to the small Microphone's face.

Mittens tries to keep a peppy attitude, for his and Host's sake.

She loves the two of them dearly, but she can't help but feel her own survivor's guilt whenever her friends grieve their loss.

Host - Close Friend

Host often acts distant and aloof when on their own, and despite being much friendlier and upbeat in the past, unlike Mike, Host has a much harder time keeping up appearances.

Mittens always assured them that she was there to help them and while Host appreciated her taking matters into her own hands and looking after the channels, after the Divide, Mittens could tell that managing the Cable had become low in Host's list of priorities.

Although Mike never gave her that impression, when it came to Host's feelings on the matter, Mittens noticed how dismissive he'd be about it.

Mittens never pressed them though. To lose a child is a pain she could never begin to imagine.

  • Mittens' bangs and the buttons on her chef hat are intended to be a callback to Nepeta Leijon from Homestuck.
    • Additionally, Mittens having a belly mouth is a reference to Pounce de Leon, who is also a feline creature with two mouths.
  • Mittens is a recycled Steven Universe OC inspired on the Cat's Eye gem!
    • Basically I was obsessed with the idea of the "Cyclops cat with the brown and pink colour-scheme" and I've been trying to make a proper character out of that concept for years!
    • Mittens is the third reincarnation of this cat cyclops idea! With her concept arts having her be more similar to the Gem reincarnation until she was able to have her own identity more fleshed out.
  • She was the second of the Channel Leaders to be designed, and the deciding factor to make the three of them all cyclops.
    • Mostly in the sense of "Well her and Klieg are monoeyed, and now it's going to be weird if the Weather Channel leader isn't also like that."
  • Mittens' Cat-like appearance is meant to connect her to Catti's family, as well as keeping with the trend of each Deltarune chapter having its own cat darkner such as Seam and Tasque Manager.
  • Mike and Mittens share the same shade of pink in their colour schemes.
