Jay | 27 | They/Them | AromanticNE0Nbandit is the online alias of Jay, a Non-Binary Digital Artist from Portugal. Although primarily focusing on Illustration and Character Design, they also have a passion for Storytelling, World Building and whichever other hobbies they happen to find exciting and interesting. Drawing since they were very young, they hope to inspire others with their art and to share their characters and stories with the world. When not drawing, they also enjoy brainstorming ideas for their original characters, going on strolls to indulge in alone time, playing casual video games, watching video essays on topics they enjoy and gushing about their favourite characters. Watch out when bringing up topics related to their current hyperfixations! They also think it's kind of weird when artists describe themselves in the third person, but they're not one to judge either. However, Jay is also debating rewriting their introduction in the first person so it's less weirdly formal and awkward sounding. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I hate DNIs, but these people will flock to me if I don't have something telling them to go away, so if you'll excuse me... DNI IF YOU'RE RACIST, TERF, BIGOT, PROSHIP, APHOBE, EXCLUSIONIST OR ANY KIND OF SELF-PROCLAIMED PROBLEMATIC |

Bolded interests are ones whose fandoms I'm involved with, anything else is just casual enjoyment :)

I have been drawing since 2007 (Age 9), began to take it more seriously when I turned 12, and haven't stopped ever since! I was taking Visual Arts during High School, am a college dropout (I was taking Graphic Design before realizing that I hated it) and took a Multimedia course as well.
However, most of what I know has been self-taught, classes were always kind of an extra and I really can't say I've learned much of anything I didn't already know :') The only thing I feel actually had any impact on my art was Figure Drawing which helped with my anatomy a lot.
Pursuing creation is mostly because throughout all of my life I've kind of sucked at everything else :') I'm lucky to see creation is my calling.
Sure! I cannot really teach anyone how to draw, simply because what works for me might not work for someone else, and I've found throughout the years that my "just draw things you like and don't think too much about it" approach doesn't exactly resonate with people :') Frustration with art is very much part of the process! I started by just drawing characters I enjoyed and basically getting really hyperfixated on specific characters to the point where I drew nothing else, but maybe something else could work for you!
Other than that, I do have some loose concepts I try to stick to, but as I mentioned, they are what work for me personally. Whether this is good advice or just nonsense, that's up for you to decide!
Paint Tool SAI 2 is my main program for everything. Occasionally I use Clip Studio Paint if I need to use effect brushes or create gradient maps, but most of my drawing process is done on SAI.
I do have a tendency to draw on very small canvases so I usually also use Waifu2x to scale my art if needed :)
For my Pixel Art I still primarily use SAI (Yeah I know, everyone tells me it's weird, don't @ me lol) but I also use Aseprite for animation!
I use a Huion GT-220 V2, I've had it since 2018 and it's worked very nicely so far! It also doubles as a second screen when not being used to draw!
No. I used to allow this, but the reposts got so out of control that I no longer allow it. The amount of disrespect I got from the people who ran those pages just leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.
I do not respect the concept of those repost pages and I don't wish to contribute to it.
I DO allow the use my art as personal profile pictures, banners, etc provided that credit is given to my account @ NE0Nbandit.
I also allow Pinterest reposts as long as they're linking back to the source of the image!
I'd very much prefer if I was asked first. It depends on the artwork, but if it's my Fan Art pieces then yes AS LONG AS YOU CREDIT ME IN THE DESCRIPTION, with my username @NE0Nbandit
If it's my original pieces, whether featuring my Original characters or other kinds of original artwork, then I'd prefer to know the context in which they're getting used before deciding whether to allow it or not.
Y E S, if you do, I will love you forever! I collect all gift art I get, I want to see it! :D
I really appreciate people taking the time to draw my characters, it means a lot! Just please show me when you do it! I love to see what people make!
A lot of times I've had people saying they drew my characters and never followed up on it 😭💔
I don't know why I was defensive about this before LOL Yeah I am a furry! :) Took me a bit to realize that it's not my fault that people have misconceptions about a term that has existed on the internet for years.
At this point, if someone wants to make negative assumptions, it's their problem.
Favourite song I want to say Walkin' on the Sun by Smash Mouth, but I couldn't forgive myself if I didn't also mention the impact that Bad Apple had in my formative years.
As for favourite music genre, I listen to just about anything as long as it has a catchy tune! I do have a preference for fast paced songs, things like hyperpop and nightcore are personal favourites. Anything by Gorillaz, Daft Punk or Lil Nas X is also up there. Also sea shanties. I love sea shanties. And phonk.
I tend to not care for slower or quieter songs, but it really depends!
During my multimedia course, a lot of stuff we learned went right over my head, but one of the things I recall one of my teachers say, was that if you were going to design a website, you had to design for mobile in the first place.
Now I thought this was bullshit and severely cuts down on the creativity you can have in the pages. I still stand by this. But I started wondering "Why can't we have both"? Luckily the multiple column format of the site allows for an easy mobile transition, but I was adamant that I wasn't going to let my creativity get cut down by mobile restrictions.
Admittedly, a lot of the projects and ideas I have for the site have to go through the "But how will this work on mobile?" thought process. I actually set up a special class in my stylesheet, called "imgdecor". If you're looking at this page on browser, you may notice the bubble decorations on the sides of the page. However, on mobile these are nowhere to be seen. That's what that class does. It's the "This thing is not viable or is just straight up impractical on smaller screens, so lets just make it disappear"
At times I've had to scrap certain ideas for just not being worth the hassle, but I find it better to be working on both mobile and browser designs at the same time.
I constantly have the browser's Inspect Tool (F12) to test the different screen sizes and test out code right away before writing it down. It's worked well so far :)
